Knowledge Mixed with Fun!

We recommend that students at Clovis Christian Schools participate in extra-curricular activities to improve their social, emotional, and academic development. Through these activities they will gain new skills and enhance their college applications by demonstrating well-roundedness and commitment. These activities also provide mental health benefits by reducing stress, fostering self-esteem and confidence, and offering crucial opportunities for teamwork, leadership, and building friendships outside of the classroom! Research data suggests a strong positive correlation between participation in extra-curricular activities and academic success, with active students generally having higher GPAs than those who don’t participate.

Elementary Specials

  • Library

    Our students attend library once a week at CCS. They learn literacy and critical thinking skills, as well as research skills.

  • P.E.

    Physical Education (PE) is to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical fitness and motor skills at a young age! Our elementary students attend PE --- days a week .

  • Music

    CCS believes in having arts in our schools. Our elementary students attend music class ---- times a week. It helps to foster cognitive development, creativity, teamwork and self-expression!

  • Art

    Students participate in art class where they can expand their creative knowledge of mediums like painting, drawing, etc.

Extra-Curricular Activities

  • 4-H

    4-H is the largest youth development program in the United States. It empowers young people to learn valuable strengths. They focus on projects in health, science, agriculture and civic engagement. It teaches them positive life skills for future leadership and successful roles in life.

  • Art

    In Art Class, our students explore diverse mediums in an environment that is different than a regular classroom. They study drawing, sculpture, painting and other art mediums.

  • E-sports

    E-sports is a unique class offered at Clovis Christian that allows students to compete in organized video game competitions. They learn technical skills, teamwork, communication and strategic thinking in this class. It is beyond just gameplay. It offers a pathway to a life in the digital, broadcasting, IT and business development world!

  • Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA)

    Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA) is for future health professionals. It is a student-led organization that supports those interested in medical and biomedical science careers. Teaches them leadership development, technical skills and they even attend competitive events.

  • Journalism

    Journalism is a class that our students learn communication skills through hands-on production of school publications! They gather news, learn ethics, interviewing, photography and layout design skills.

  • National Honor Society

    The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization for high school students who have achieved academic excellence. They will learn leadership, character and service skills. Membership is a prestigious accomplishment that highlights a student's well-rounded achievements and helps enhance college applications.

  • Photography

    Students at CCS can take photography, which teaches them visual literacy, critical thinking and creative expression through the art of capturing images. They will learn camera settings, composition, lighting and post-production techniques.

  • Violin & Piano

    As part of our promise to include the arts in our schools, we are so happy to offer violin and piano to students. Both help foster creativity, musical excellence and skills that go far beyond the instrument.

Athletics

  • Cheer/Spirit Squad

    Cheer/Spirit Squad is a fun athletic activity that brings excitement, joy and hype to our sporting events! Our group of students involved in cheer help bring spirit to the CCS teams as they compete in their games.

  • Basketball

    Both boys and girls, 8th grade and higher, are eligible to play basketball for Clovis Christian Schools. They will learn skills in the sport as well as how to be a good teammate and good sportsmanship! The seasons begin in October and run through early spring.

  • Football

    Clovis Christian is proud to have football available in the fall semester for our 8th graders and higher. We play 6-man??? football against teams in the area. It is a great activity to support sportsmanship, teamwork and athletic ability.

  • Golf

    Golf is an athletic extra-curricular activity offered to our 8th graders and higher. It requires strategy, planning and physical ability. Our students who participate in our golf team learn valuable skills on and off the course.

  • Martial Arts

    Martial Arts is an athletic activity offered only at Clovis Christian Schools. No other school in the area offers this activity, and we're so blessed to have a wonderful instructor. Students involved will learn life skills to help them be disciplined and focused. The skills they gain through Martial Arts are ones they'll carry into life as they embark on their lives outside of school.

  • Track & Field

    Track & Field is a tradition when it comes to athletics in schools. With events like sprinting, distance running, long jumping and more, the students on our track team will gain excellent athletic abilities, while learning hard work ethics and dedication to something.

  • Volleyball

    Volleyball is offered to our 8th grade and higher girls at Clovis Christian. These ladies will be coached by great staff who are dedicated to providing them with not only skills on the volleyball court in the fall season, but that they will grow from throughout the years to come.

Students at Clovis Christian Schools can begin participating in athletics beginning in middle school (6th grade and up). Football is available to high school students only.

Middle school students are eligible to participate in all activities except football.

High school students are eligible to participate in all activities and athletics.

Elementary students can participate in several extra curricular activities. These include cheer/spirit squad (1st grade), 4-H (kindergarten), violin and piano, martial arts (age 8)

CCS has keyboards for piano, however students who want to participate in violin need to provide their own violin.
