Academics at CCS

Clovis Christian Schools is jointly accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED (www.advanc-ed.org), which is a rigorous process that requires CCS to meet 11 standards, including a continuous improvement standard. We commit to providing rigorous core academic classes and challenging electives. CCS is not a textbook-driven school that allows a selected textbook adoption by grade level or teacher to determine student-learning goals. Instead, we follow the Virginia Standards of Learning that reflect rigor and cultivate analytical thinking. All instructional materials or resources are evaluated and then selected with the sole purpose of effectively implementing and staying true to our challenging student learning outcomes.

English & Reading

Grade-specific reading standards that require increasing sophistication in students’ reading comprehension at Clovis Christian Schools. Our standards approach the intertwined issues of the what and the how of reading. These standards align with the knowledge students need.

Mathematics

Our students learn to master numbers, equations, and problem-solving skills with comprehensive lessons in algebra, geometry, and calculus setting clear, rigorous learning standards. We are centering our K-12 education system on excellence.

Science

Our science standards include academic content relevant at different grade levels. Our students receive the appropriate curriculum to teach the following standards: biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and other scientific studies to prepare them for a life beyond the walls of Clovis Christian Schools. Our students' success is top priority.

History & Social Studies

Every student K–12 will possess a robust understanding of the places, people, events, and ideas that comprise the history of our state, the United States, and the world. Appropriate for each age group, CCS students will learn about the rise and fall of civilizations across time, as well as state and the United States government.

Extra Curriculars

At CCS, our students have the opportunity to participate in numerous extra curricular activities when they reach middle and high school. Elementary students attend specials classes (physical education, library, art and music class) each week. Our middle and high school students have the chance to take art classes, computer classes, etc.

Athletics & Fine Arts

Each student needs a place to plug-in and find what makes them thrive. While our focus is primarily on academics, we also know athletics and the arts are important to well-rounded development. We have sports such as football, volleyball, basketball and track. We also have art classes, etc. for students who prefer creativity!

Christian Integration

In all aspects of the education at Clovis Christian Schools, we integrate Christian beliefs and a biblical world view from curriculum daily life. This goes beyond just adding Bible verses to lessons. CCS teaches students to analyze subjects through a biblical lens, connecting academics to our Creator and a moral framework! We want to set our students up to think critically and biblically in academics and their personal lives. It is a very important aspect of our Schools.

Clovis Christian School would love to be the home of your Pre-K thru 12th grade student(s)! At least 47% of our student population is assigned to Cannon Air Force Base.

We are a jointly accredited school and were just selected as the second best private school in the state of New Mexico! Our core academic classes are rigorous and we offer challenging electives. All instructional materials are evaluated to ensure our students receive the highest education we can offer.

The main goal of Clovis Christian Schools is to help your student reach their full potential and become proficient in subjects like math, reading, social studies/history and science.

Our military families are important to us! Because of this, we offer a military discount for each family connected to Cannon Air Force Base.

Our family has been a part of CCS since 2011. Our daughter started 4th grade there, and our older son started kindergarten that same year. In 2022, our younger son began preschool there. Our daughter graduated from CCS in 2021 and just finished her BS in Psychology at GCU, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Our older son graduated from CCS in 2025, and started at Texas Tech this fall. Our youngest is currently a second grader. Our children thrived at CCS, received an excellent education, and will always feel like a part of the CCS family. Our youngest is also flourishing as a part of his extended "family" at CCS.
